Good morning to you, my friends! Hope the day is treating you well so far! I was asked when Crossing the Line was going to be released, and it won't be until July. But I will keep you all posted as the date gets closer. :) Until then, here's another sneak peek!

George squeezed her elbow. The gesture almost felt intimate, but the steely glint in his eyes kept her from believing it. “Just doing my job.” Her skin flushed when the deep baritone of his voice wrapped around her like a warm blanket. “Oh, and you have the right to remain silent.”

Her mouth snapped closed. This was real; this was happening. He opened the glass door and guided her inside with a hand at the small of her back. She swallowed hard and prayed that George was the one doing the interrogating and not the NFL linebacker-wannabe giving her a stare-down.

I was invited by the Outdoor Ed. class at my school to act as an additional staff supervisor on their hiking trip to the Adirondacks this coming week, which basically resulted in me making this face: :D So pumped! Can't wait to get some fresh air and enjoy nature in one of the most serene settings. I also know I'm gonna need to pack about 43 layers of clothing because I sweat like a beast. She snatched her keys and her purse and dragged herself out of the vehicle, half expecting him to cuff her. Hell, she had a set of fuzzy pink cuffs in the trunk he could borrow for the job.

“I’ll take those,” he said, easing the keys from her grip. Their fingers brushed and her breath hitched. Cupping her elbow in his hot palm, he escorted her to the big grey prison-like building.

“This is, like, a normal, everyday occurrence, right? Like, you take people in here all the time, don’t you? I mean, like at the airport security, when they randomly choose someone and search their bags...that’s what this is, right?”

Last night I went to see the Nepean High School production of Les Misérables with a bunch of my co-workers. In a word, it was...SPECTACULAR! I was so far beyond impressed with the talent from our students and staff who poured countless hours of their blood, sweat, and tears into putting on a show that people will be talking about for years to come. I'd only ever seen the movie prior to this, but experiencing the musical live on a stage is something I'll treasure for the rest of my life. 1) What are you working on?  A story about love and peanut butter. And the love of peanut butter. Oh, hell. Here's a rough blurb: It's the year 2033. Since so many people have developed allergies to peanuts in this century, the government has banned peanuts and all peanut-related products, including (*gasp*) peanut butter. Side note: I think that was the most anyone has ever used the word 'peanut' in a sentence. Well, as you can imagine, Morgan, my heroine, refuses to live in a world without PB. So, with the help of my hero, Clark, they build their own peanut-butter-making machine in the secret basement of her home and begin the business of bootlegging. Also, they share a few pb kisses, etc, etc.

2) How does your work differ from others in the genre? I tend to slather on the humour in my stories and my natural quirkiness always shines through in my characters. I write the kinds of stories that people read and think, "Huh. This is the first time I've read anything like this before...What a nut." :D

3) Why do you write what you write? I love to laugh and I love to make people laugh, so writing stories filled with humour is a very easy transition for me. I also love to read dirty books. So I write what I like to read in hopes that others share my...sophisticated taste. ;)

4) How does your writing process work? Oh, was I supposed to have an actual process? Hmmm. Sometimes I sit on my bed, I prop my laptop on my lap, and I put words into sentences. And sometimes I just stare at my screen. And sometimes I just read dirty books and surf the internets. Helpful? Didn't think so. Oooh, something shiny!

How in the hell was she going to explain the trunk full of sex toys and boxes of erotic romance books? “Uh, okay.” She pressed the trunk release button and cringed as he walked to the rear of her vehicle.

He lifted the latch and her stomach lurched. She bashed her head against the steering wheel to the sound of him sifting through the unfit-for-children contents of her trunk.

He returned to her open window and lowered his voice to a dangerous level. “You wanna change your answer, Miss Kelly?”

“Props,” she blurted.

I'm extremely happy to report that my junior girls volleyball team recorded their first set win this past week. Not a full game. Just a set. One set in 10 games. But you know what? I am the proudest coach on the planet because these girls have played their hearts out all season long, and even more importantly, they've come together as a team. They support each other, and they're friends on and off the court. What more could you possibly ask for? I may not be the winningest coach in history, but I definitely have a team full of champions. :) Next up, I'll be coaching junior girls soccer! Can't wait! Wishing you all a fabulous (and warm!) week!
