Here's the blurb for Adventures in Online Dating: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you!
And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:
“So, barring a career change, what
can I do to make you feel more comfortable?”
At
this point it might have been easier if he put the damn makeup back on so
she’d stop thinking about licking every last one of his freckles. She needed to
take the focus off her. “I’ve always wanted to learn how to juggle.”
Charlie’s
eyes lit up like a kid’s on Christmas morning. “It’s a piece of cake. I bet I
could teach you in ten minutes.”
“I’m
not the most coordinated person, which is why my parents signed me up for piano
lessons instead of Little League.”

Fun snippet! I hope you're feeling better soon - feeling a bit grim myself, roll on spring!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming 'getting to know you' snippet. Now get up, take a shower and wash that cold right out of your body. Don't forget to change the sheets.
ReplyDeleteAw, I hope you feel better soon! I hate the toilet paper phase. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, freckles! I can relate to wanting to lick. But juggling might be a good distraction. It's nice to meet men with "skills."
This is a set up for fun! I don't get to your end of the list often, Evelyn, but every time I do, I'm always struck by how your characters come to life through your words. Excellent 8!
ReplyDeleteI like their set up in this. Interested in following Evelyn :)
ReplyDeleteNow go get some hot tea and lysol. Feel better
Fun! I have to say though that piano does take some coordination. Might want to consider changing that to something less hand-eye-intensive.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the juggling lesson. :) Hope you feel better soon!
I hope you feel better soon! Loved the excerpt, didn't see the juggling thing coming...and I love her preoccupation with his freckles.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteCute 8. There's a lot of personality and warmth in this excerpt. :)
Take care & get well soon!
Feel better! Charlie is too cute. I'm having so much fun listening to them talk.
