Here's the premise for Nutcases: It's the year 2033. Since so many people have developed allergies to peanuts in this century, the government has banned peanuts and all peanut-related products, including (*gasp*) peanut butter. Side note: I think that was the most anyone has ever used the word 'peanut' in a sentence. Well, as you can imagine, Morgan, my heroine, refuses to live in a world without PB. So, with the help of my hero, Clark, they build their own peanut-butter-making machine in the secret basement of her home and begin the business of bootlegging. Also, they share a few pb kisses, etc, etc.
And here's an excerpt:
Salty, passionate, sweeter than sin. Tongues tangled in a game of give and take. Her back hit the wall. He wanted to consume her, to swallow her whole. This taste, this feeling--so warm and familiar.
“You taste like my memories,” he whispered against her lips.
That's all, folks! Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!
Yesterday I finally booked my flight for my annual girlfriends getaway. Every year I meet these ladies in a different state to gossip and giggle and gab our time away. They're my best friends, and since I only get to see some of them once a year, I really cherish the time we spend together. We'll be frolicking and fraternizing in San Antonio at the end of February. If you live in or near the area, you might want to invest in a good pair of ear plugs. The giddy squeals can get pretty loud at times. :D Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!
Oh, I do like the line about tasting like memories. Great snippet!

DeleteYep, the memories line is chills-down-my-spine good. You need to trademark it before we all steal it. Or it's possible that the chills are shivers from the windchill here today -- nope, it's the line! Hey, San Antonio's warm, right? Another reason to look forward to being there, other than being able to smoosh you to death!
