Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you!
And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:
“Guess I’ve been going to the wrong
coffee shop,” he told her plainly.
“Guess
so.”
He
took a drink from his own mug, those dark,
penetrating eyes fixed on her. “I think you’re going about this online dating
thing all wrong.”
“Is that so?”
“For
starters, you shouldn’t dress so well on the first date.”
She
glanced down at the summer dress she wore and the cute, strappy heels. “No?”
“Don’t
flirt, don’t smile, and whatever you do, don’t look at him with those eyes of
yours.”
Those
very eyes lifted to his in a hurry, sparkling with awareness. “Why, Garrett, if
I didn’t know better, I’d think you were trying to sabotage me.”
Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!
I've had the most amazing week. The family reunion was awesome as expected, I got to spend some quality time with my parents, including a movie marathon on Wednesday, and I showered my adorable baby nephew with hugs and kisses galore! I'm headed back to Ottawa on Monday. I've got tons to do in the next few weeks because I'm moving at the end of this month! More on that later. In the meantime, wishing everyone a fantastic week ahead! :)
Yeah, he's definitely trying to sabotage her! But that's not so bad if he intends to take her off the market once and for all. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think that's his intention, but we'll see how successful he is. ;) Thanks, Christina!
DeleteReverse flirting going on here. I think she's met The man.Fun eight.
ReplyDeleteHe's pretty smooth, isn't he? Thanks, Charmaine! :)
DeleteI think my allegiance has shifted away from the clown. Garrett is a charmer, for sure!
ReplyDeleteBut now for the big question - what movies made up your marathon? Glad you had fun!
Hee! Garrett gets under your skin, for sure. ;)
DeleteWe saw Spy and Jurassic World, but I definitely enjoyed the latter more. I love those dinos! Thanks for stopping in, A-M! xo
Lol, love the energy between the two of them and the way he's twisting things around. Exciting and a little unexpected. Mystery Man is moving to the top of my list;).
ReplyDeleteLol, I'm sure he'll be pleased to hear that! Thanks, Tina! :D
DeleteOh, isn't he "helpful?" :)
ReplyDeleteYes, he's just full of all the best answers. ;) Thanks for commenting, Caitlin!
DeleteYup, sabotage all right! At least she sees right through it - I enjoy the dialog between these two (still missing the clown though). Great snippet!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I feel like you'll never be fully happy again until Charlie comes back. Maybe he will...eventually. ;) Thanks, Veronica!
DeleteHe does have a point (even if he is trying to sabotage her for himself). We don't show our real selves to people on our first dates (even though it always finds ways of revealing itself). We put on a show of the awesome person we want to be... and well, maybe Garrett just wants to jump right to honesty.
ReplyDeleteYou might be on to something there, Eden! Thanks for commenting! :)
