Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you!
And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:
“Just doin’ my job, ma’am, I don’t
set the fines.”
God
help Joe if she found him now. She’d make the little twerp pay for the ticket
with his allowance. “This is the worst day of my life.” Sydney collapsed against the hood of her car
with a defeated sigh.
“Plenty of people get tickets.”
Ignoring
him, she rattled on, “I mean, first, I’m forced to sit through a date with
Clueless Joe, the vegan, tattooed gamer, while drinking the crappiest coffee of
my life, and then the jerk just walks out on me! I mean, who does that? He
claims he was putting more money is his parking meter, but he never came back.”
“Maybe
you shoulda put more money in yours too.”
Well, the man makes a fair point. lol. Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!
Just one more week to go until our Canadian Thanksgiving! I always look forward to a long weekend, and I'm especially looking forward to spending this one with family. The food is just icing on the cake. Oh, and there will actually BE cake because we're belatedly celebrating three September birthdays! Woohoo! Wishing everyone a fabulous week ahead! :)
Maybe the cop is a possibility. You're driving me crazy. Good snippet.
ReplyDeleteLOL, hopefully not too crazy. ;) Thanks, Charmaine!
DeleteOh, she's gonna be lucky if she can restrain herself here, and not walk away with an assaulting an officer charge : )
ReplyDeleteHaha! He may have to cuff her, and then the real excitement starts. ;)
DeleteHee, I like icing on the cake. Ooh, sorry. TMI?
ReplyDeleteI like the cop so far. Even though he called her "ma'am." Ouch. I'm anxious to see if Syd can make him feel sorry for her eventually...
Love your snippets!
LOL, not at all. We are pro-TMI in these parts. :D
DeleteYeah, the ma'am bit was a bit much, but he'll redeem himself. Hopefully.
Love YOU! xo
He's a real wise-ass. I like him already! :-)
ReplyDeleteI with the policeman on this one. She's being a bit of a drama queen -- the worst day of her life? Come on! -- and he's just trying to do his job.
ReplyDeleteLol, he does not appear to be very impressed by her story;). Great snippet.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the snippet. I think the policeman or parking meter guy is being very patient wit her.
ReplyDeleteHah! He does have a point . . .
ReplyDeleteSounds like when I get pulled over.... :) I like that you write the basics of conversation so effortlessly!!
