Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you!
And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:
He placed a hand on her hip.
“Whoa, you okay?”
And
now her hip was on fire because the man's hand was hotter than a three dollar pistol.
“Yeah, I’m good, thanks.” Why couldn’t she just lie and let him keep touching
her? Except, even with her confirmation that she was able to stand on her own
two feet, he didn’t seem to be in any hurry to let her go. Good sign, very good
sign.
“So
you scare off your dates, you flirt your way out of parking tickets, and you
steal expensive pens. What do you do in your spare time?”
Giddy
laughter burst from her throat.
Well, it's that dreaded time of year for a teacher: report card season. Stress ball, thy name is Evelyn. Marks are due by 4 PM tomorrow. It'll get them in, as always, but it won't be pretty. And a lot of chocolate will be consumed. And then I'll do it all over again at the end of January. Life is funny that way. ;) Wishing all of you a very stress-free week ahead!
"Hotter than a three dollar pistol" - LOVE IT!
ReplyDelete:D Thanks so much, Nancy!
DeleteLove the way you express you character. Maybe he's the one? Enough already with baiting your friends like this.
ReplyDeleteAnd watch the chocolate, teacher lady. Too much is bad for the slim hips.
Hee! He COULD be the one. You never know. ;)
DeleteYes, I must watch my waist line too. Just a nibble or two will have to do. Thanks, Charmaine!
Boy, he's got her number, doesn't he? Think I'd be feeling giddy myself, under the circumstances.
ReplyDeletePatrick's pretty smooth, eh? ;) Thanks, Christina!
DeleteLove that last line! They seem like they would really get along!
ReplyDeleteSyd seems to get along with everyone. That's the problem. lol. :D Thanks, Gemma!
DeleteYep, hot hands, goosebumps, all good signs! Good story, too! Good luck with the grading stress - at least it will be over soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks, A-M! :x By the end of the day I should be done most of my grading. Probably. Hopefully. Need more chocolate....
DeleteLove her burst of laughter response. They seemed great together. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the excerpt, loved how he summed her up! A good sense of humor is important and he's got one...great snippet!
ReplyDeleteThey've got a great witty banter going on. They definitely need to take this on a date, see what happens!
ReplyDeleteIntriguing. When you say who she will decide is entirely up to me, do you mean that this is a choose-your-own-adventure romance? If so, I LOVE that concept. Great snippet!
ReplyDelete“So you scare off your dates, you flirt your way out of parking tickets, and you steal expensive pens. What do you do in your spare time?”
ReplyDeleteThis line cracked me up! I love a bit of a smart-ass. :-)
Very funny! Whichever this guy happens to be, sounds like she's certainly considering him a keeper for the moment. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea for the ending!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a fan of the "Hotter than a three dollar pistol." Nice!
