            Garrett’s answering grin nearly stole her breath. “You hungry now, Sydney? I know the maître d' at The Empire, and I could get us a table.”

            “Starving.” She wet her lips with the tip of her tongue. The subtle gesture drew his eyes to her lips like a moth to a flame.

            “Let me make a quick phone call then and we’ll head on over.”

So, I'm officially moved in to my new digs! You guys, the move was pure hell. I literally moved across the street, and you'd think it would have been a piece of cake, but, like, everything took soooo much longer than expected, and the process ended up taking two days instead of one, but it's done, thank the Lord and my incredible, patient parents. 

Oh, and about the hot guy who I'd hoped would help me with the heavy lifting? Let me just say that, since moving into my new place (which I love!!!), I have met an extraordinary number of cute guys. In fact, it's possible that I made out with a magician last night. Not quite a clown, but close, right? :D Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

            Her hands were shaking—hell, her entire body was trembling with arousal and a tiny hint of fear. How could this man have such an effect on her? She fumbled for her mug and drained her cappuccino in one long gulp. Like it wasn’t enough that he mentioned the restaurant she adored most in the city. No man, not even the men she’d dated in the past or had long-term relationships with, had ever made her feel so much with mere words and compliments. “I’m a professional piano player. Witty conversations, getting tickled, jumping in rain puddles after a storm—just a few things that make me laugh. Music...music makes me tick.”

Well, my friends, I'm writing this post on Thursday night, knowing that the big MD is coming...Moving Day. Dun, dun, dun! Now that it's Sunday (at least it will be when you read this), I'm really hoping the move on Saturday went well. That a sexy, bare-chested man helped me with the heavy lifting, and said sexy, bare-chested man gave me his digits before he left. No, wait. I hope he helped me christen my new bachelorette pad first. *nods* Actually, I hope my parents left, and THEN he helped me christen the place. :D I'll make the rounds once I get settled in.             “Are you?”

            He nodded. “Much better.” His lips closed around the rim of his mug, and hers tingled in jealousy. The man had an exceeding amount of confidence that would come across as arrogant on anyone else. On him it was just plain hot.

            “So if this were a date, if we were on a date right now, how would you, uh...seal the deal?”

            Garrett returned his mug to the table and dabbed his lips with a napkin. “If this were a date,” he began in a smooth, deliciously confident tone, “I’d tell you how sexy you look in that dress, that you have the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen, and your smile, your laugh, your hair...that body...everything about you is perfect.”

Well, in roughly two weeks I'm picking up and moving...across the street. It's not far to go, I know, but moving is always such a pain. So much packing. So much lifting. So much sweating. One of these days I hope to settle in a place that I can call home for longer than a year or two. Or maybe I'll meet a really sexy man who already has a home of his own, and we'll magically fall in love, and he'll, like, totally ask me to move in with him. And I'll act all nonchalant at first, but meanwhile I'll be secretly packing my bags, and then I'll just show up on his doorstep and he'll carry me and all my belongings over the threshold. Ahhh.             He took a drink from his own mug, those dark, penetrating eyes fixed on her. “I think you’re going about this online dating thing all wrong.”

            “Is that so?”

            “For starters, you shouldn’t dress so well on the first date.”

            She glanced down at the summer dress she wore and the cute, strappy heels. “No?”

            “Don’t flirt, don’t smile, and whatever you do, don’t look at him with those eyes of yours.”

            Those very eyes lifted to his in a hurry, sparkling with awareness. “Why, Garrett, if I didn’t know better, I’d think you were trying to sabotage me.”

I've had the most amazing week. The family reunion was awesome as expected, I got to spend some quality time with my parents, including a movie marathon on Wednesday, and I showered my adorable baby nephew with hugs and kisses galore! I'm headed back to Ottawa on Monday. I've got tons to do in the next few weeks because I'm moving at the end of this month! More on that later.             “So where’d you pick him up, that Joe fella?”

Well, today I'm off to my first family reunion of the summer. So excited to spend some quality time with my family, enjoy fabulous food, and revel in the festivities.             She gave Mystery Man a good once-over. He definitely didn’t look like a Joe--maybe a Hunter, or a Preston, or a Luke. “So tell me your name.”

            “Garrett,” he answered without preamble, “and you are?”

As of yesterday, I officially kicked off my summer break! I can't tell you how much fun I had this past week with all my coworkers, celebrating the end of another year of teaching. I ate SO much cake, I laughed, I cried, and I got in a whole bunch of hugs. I sure don't mind being off for two months, but I'll miss them a ton. Now begins the summer of Evelyn!
