Weekend Writing Warriors #151!

Happy ho-ho-holidays, my friends! Another year has come and gone, and I've loved every moment of reading, writing, and sharing with all of you. Here's more from Adventures in Online Dating!

Le blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you! :-D

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

“That was pretty fun.” He leaned closer. Not a single fiber of her being could resist the magnetic pull of his body. His lips brushed against hers so softly. Getting-to-know-you pecks and fleeting kisses stole her breath, and when his tongue teased the seam of her lips, she opened her mouth on a sigh, welcoming him in. She wanted to know everything about him. How he dotted his I’s and crossed his T’s. How many people this good guy had let off from paying their parking tickets.
“Am I the reason you’re quitting early?” she whispered between kisses.
            “Uh-huh.”

I've had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas with both sides of the family--my incredible parents, aunts, uncles, my 92, 96, and 88 year-old grandparents, cousins, cousins, and more cousins, and my darling nephew, Charlie. My best wishes to all of you for a beautiful and prosperous New Year! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #150!

Happy holidays, my fellow warriors! After I write this post, I'll be packing up and hitting the road to enjoy Christmas with my family. :) But for you, my warrior family, I leave this gift: a new excerpt from Adventures in Online Dating!

Here's the blurb:  After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE.

His pace quickened and she tottered on her heels to keep up with him. “Where you off to in such a hurry?”
“Gonna call it quits a bit early today. I have something more important to do.”
Was that more innuendo? “Did you know that you can drive away while an officer’s writing you a parking ticket? I mean, like, if they haven’t actually done the deed and put the ticket on your windshield, and if they don’t get it written by the time you drive off, they’re SOL...which is actually kind of funny if you think about it because....”
“So why didn’t you try it?” he interrupted her, thank God.

She took a deep breath and stopped moving, forcing him to jerk to a stop as well. “It was more fun trying to convince you not to write it.”

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

I wish you all a wonderful, magical holiday season filled with all your favourite things! I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for continuing to support my writing and visiting my blog every week. May 2016 be a fruitful year for all of us! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #149!

Hi, gang! Hope you're enjoying a fabulous weekend! If not, perhaps a snippet from Adventures in Online Dating will turn things around!

Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE.

She sauntered toward him and grabbed the ticket from his hand before he could even think of filling it in. Retrieving the newly-claimed fountain pen from her purse, she scribbled a note on the front of the ticket then slipped it under the wiper blade of the vehicle in question.
“What did you do?” he asked as he reached for the ticket.
She read it aloud to save him the trouble. “‘Merry Christmas, this one’s on me. Love, Officer Easy.’”
Her snicker became a full-fledged giggle when he returned the ticket to the windshield and took her by the hand. “I’m a nice guy.”
            “But not easy?”
“Maybe a little,” he conceded with a smile.

This is my last week of teaching before I'm off on Christmas holidays! Can't wait to be home with my family. Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #148!

Hey there, everybody! Happy Sunday! I've got a jam-packed day ahead, so let's just jump right into Adventures in Online Dating!

Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE.

Patrick took a closer inspection of the car they were standing next to and hit her with another toe-curling smile. “This one’s five minutes over time.”
            “Hit ‘em hard.”
            He laughed. “No mercy, huh?”
            She shook her head.
“Not even after I gave you a break?”
“Hey, I earned that break after enduring the date from Hell.”
“I even gave you a twenty minute buffer before I started writing the ticket.”
            “You did?”
A faint blush colored his cheeks as he confessed, “I’m not always so good at my job.”

Well, my friends, today's a big day. The BF and I are celebrating three months of being able to see each other's faces! I seriously can't believe it's already been three months since our first date, but at the same time, I feel like I've known him forever. Things are still going wonderfully. I'm so looking forward to the holidays and all the festivities that await. Wishing all of you a magical week ahead! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #147!

Well, my friends, I must apologize for last week. I had my post all ready to go and forgot the one tiny detail of actually signing up on the linky list. So, if you'd like to catch up with what you missed last week, feel free to scroll down to the previous post. If you don't mind skipping ahead, read on!

Here's the blurb for Adventures in Online Dating: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE.

“You’re on.” Butterflies belly flopped in her stomach. When he let go of her hip and pressed his palm to her lower back instead, she purred. She walked in step with him, smiling all the while because he wanted her to stay with him. He wanted to have coffee with her--real coffee, not that black sludge of death. He was a good, hearty, healthy, meat-eating kind of manly man; at least he looked that way.
            “You eat meat, right?”
He stopped walking and turned to her with a curious grin. “I’m a carnivore and proud of it.”
            “God bless you.”

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

So, just to go off of my post last week, the fella I'm relationshipping with met my parents, as scheduled. We went out for dinner together. Mom didn't mention anything about weddings or babies. Dad only ordered one dessert and kept the embarrassing stories to a minimum. And my guy couldn't have been more charming. Suffice it to say, everyone left with full tummies and happy hearts. :) Wishing all of you a wonderful week ahead!

Weekend Writing Warriors #146!

Howdy, folks! It's a beautiful day for a date, wouldn't you say? Let's see what's happening in Adventures in Online Dating!

Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE.

“I play the piano professionally.”
“Oh really? I’ve always wanted to learn.”
“I offer private lessons.” The playful lift of her eyebrows conveyed she was willing to offer more than a chance at tickling the ivories.
The curve of his mouth proved that he’d caught the innuendo—hook, line, and sinker. “I’m off duty in half an hour. If you don’t mind sticking around, I’ll take you up on that coffee. My treat, though.”

Soooo today is a very big day, my friends. I'm going on a double date...with my parents. Yep, they will be meeting my guy for the first time. We've been dating for close to three months now, and that might as well be a lifetime where I'm concerned. My relationships don't usually last as long as a half-hour sitcom. This one is beating the odds! I think we're gonna make it! I hope! Well, everybody cross your fingers just in case. :D Have a wonderful day/week ahead!

Weekend Writing Warriors #145!

Hey there, gang! Hope you're all doing well. Without further ado, let's jump back into Adventures in Online Dating!

Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE.

He placed a hand on her hip. “Whoa, you okay?”
And now her hip was on fire because the man's hand was hotter than a three dollar pistol. “Yeah, I’m good, thanks.” Why couldn’t she just lie and let him keep touching her? Except, even with her confirmation that she was able to stand on her own two feet, he didn’t seem to be in any hurry to let her go. Good sign, very good sign.
“So you scare off your dates, you flirt your way out of parking tickets, and you steal expensive pens. What do you do in your spare time?”
Giddy laughter burst from her throat.

Well, it's that dreaded time of year for a teacher: report card season. Stress ball, thy name is Evelyn. Marks are due by 4 PM tomorrow. It'll get them in, as always, but it won't be pretty. And a lot of chocolate will be consumed. And then I'll do it all over again at the end of January. Life is funny that way. ;) Wishing all of you a very stress-free week ahead!

Weekend Writing Warriors #144!

Hiya, folks! Hope you're all doing well! Let's jump back into Adventures in Online Dating!

Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you! :-D

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

“Well, considering I tore up your ticket and let you have my pen, I think you at least owe me your name.”
She lifted her gaze to a more appropriate level and stretched out her hand. “Sydney.” His warm palm met hers and held it securely for long seconds. Their gazes held for just as long.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sydney.”
Goosebumps. The feel of his hand and the sound of his voice and the fact that he wouldn’t stop staring at her...Like her body had a choice in the matter--of course it reacted. When he let her go, she swayed slightly and reached for his sleeve to steady herself.

Well, you guys, I just celebrated two months with my fella on Friday night! All week long I've been having my own cold war, but the cold finally won and sealed the victory with a cough. But all those germies couldn't keep my guy away. He stopped by last night and brought me homemade stew, tiramisu, and popsicles. He's a keeper for sure, eh? Wishing you all a great, germ-free week ahead! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #143!

Hi there! Happy November, my friends! Let's kick off this month with more from Adventures in Online Dating!

She pushed to her feet and met him on the edge of the sidewalk. With a sassy smirk, she plucked the pen out of his shirt pocket and waved it tauntingly. “That might be hard to do without your trusty pen here.”
“You don’t think I have other pens?”
“You might, but not as nice as this one I’ll bet...because this is a really nice pen.”
Patrick shook his head and chuckled. “It’s a fountain pen, worth more than the ticket woulda been.”
            “The pen is mightier.”
He rocked back on his heels and shoved his hands into his pockets, and her eyes found themselves glued to his movements. And her mind wondered how mighty his other pen might be.

Today is a very special day, besides being the first day of November and the day after Halloween. It's my grandpa's 96th birthday! He's absolutely amazing for 96. The sweetest, kindest, gentlest man I know. He loves to share stories about the good old days, loves to eat fish and chips and big breakfasts, loves to sing, and he loves to tell jokes. I know I got my sense of humour from him, and I have his eyes too. Hope everyone enjoys their day as much as I'm certain my grandpa will! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #142!

Hello again, hello! Happy Sunday! The days are getting shorter, and night is falling sooner, so here's more from Adventures in Online Dating to brighten things up!

Blurby blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you! :-D

And now for an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:
“The guy’s obviously an idiot.”
“Yeah,” she grumbled, “an idiot who got away without a parking ticket.”
His fingers brushed against hers as he took the ticket from her hand and tore it up, just like that. The grin on his face had her hooha doing the cha-cha.
“You tore up the ticket,” she whispered in disbelief. “I can’t believe you did that.” The guy was a saint--an adorable, loveable, dateable saint. “You really shouldn’t have done that.”
“Would you prefer I write you a new one? I think I saw you jaywalking when you crossed the street.”

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

I figured I'd give you all a quick update on my own personal dating life. I'm still seeing the same guy. We've been together for about a month and a half and things are going wonderfully! Just this past Wednesday, our dodgeball teams (yes, we play on separate dodgeball teams in the same league) faced off against each other in an epic throw-down showdown. My team didn't simply win, we obliterated them by a score of 15-4. But don't worry about my guy's morale. I made sure to kiss his bruised ego better after the game. ;) Hope the rest of you have a fantastic, fun-filled week ahead!

Weekend Writing Warriors #141!

Hello you crazy people! I'm slightly tipsy right now as I type this at 2:29 in the AM. Wedding receptions at wineries tend to be quite heavy on the alcohol. Word to the wise. Oh, and yes, I've been at a wedding! More on that later. First, here's more from Adventures in Online Dating!

Aaaand an excerpt, continuing from where we left off. Sydney just asked if Officer Patrick could let her off the hook for paying her parking ticket.

I’ll buy you a cup of coffee,” she offered with a wink. Oh God, was she flirting with this guy? So he was totally cute, and single...maybe. Well, he didn’t have a ring on his finger, and yes, she’d noticed that. But she wasn’t this girl. She was a good, honest, upright citizen who paid her dues and her fines...not that she was in the practice of receiving fines....
“How do you know I won’t walk out on you?”
            “Ouch.”
Patrick laughed again before the punch to the gut could settle. “I’m kidding,” he said.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

So yeah. I've been in the lovely Niagara region for a fabulous wedding weekend with my teachers college peeps! This area is always beautiful and scenic, but add in the fall colours and it's nothing short of spectacular. The food was exquisite, the company even better, and my feet are aching from all the dancing. In short, it was a smashing success, despite the fact that I failed to catch the bouquet. Ah well. I caught the bouquet in the previous three weddings I attended, and no weddings of my own resulted. Maybe it's better luck to NOT catch it. Speaking of catching things, since I'll be driving most of the day, I'll catch up with all of you later this week! Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #140!

Hiiiiii! It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canuckland! I'm thankful for a lot of things--my family, my health, all the incredible opportunities I've been given, and each and every one of you lovely people. Thanks for your endless support and enthusiasm! I'm also thankful for words and being able to express them, so without further ado, I'll share some with you!

Here's the blurb for Adventures in Online Dating: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you! :-D

In the last excerpt, Mr. Parking Enforcement Officer told Syd that she should have put money in her own meter and worried less about her date's. We'll continue from there in 3, 2, 1....

“That’s completely beside the point.”
He laughed long and hard as he took a step closer. “Not to me.”
Now that he stood in front of her, she finally looked him over--tall and tan and young, but not too young, and yummy. His eyes were green with flecks of gold, warm and inviting. Freckles dotted his nose and the tops of his cheeks, lucky whiskers outlined his mouth, and lips that looked softer than rose petals curved upwards. The sound of his melodic laughter still floated in her ears and enticed a smile that was beyond her control. “Officer....”
            “Patrick,” he supplied.
“Patrick, um, could you find it in your heart to let me off the hook this one time?

Weekend Writing Warriors #139!

Greetings, dear friends! Welcome back to another exciting weekend of reading, writing, and warrior-ing! It's time once again for more Adventures in Online Dating!

Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE.

“Just doin’ my job, ma’am, I don’t set the fines.”
God help Joe if she found him now. She’d make the little twerp pay for the ticket with his allowance. “This is the worst day of my life.” Sydney collapsed against the hood of her car with a defeated sigh.
            “Plenty of people get tickets.”
Ignoring him, she rattled on, “I mean, first, I’m forced to sit through a date with Clueless Joe, the vegan, tattooed gamer, while drinking the crappiest coffee of my life, and then the jerk just walks out on me! I mean, who does that? He claims he was putting more money is his parking meter, but he never came back.
“Maybe you shoulda put more money in yours too.”

Well, the man makes a fair point. lol. Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

Just one more week to go until our Canadian Thanksgiving! I always look forward to a long weekend, and I'm especially looking forward to spending this one with family. The food is just icing on the cake. Oh, and there will actually BE cake because we're belatedly celebrating three September birthdays! Woohoo! Wishing everyone a fabulous week ahead! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #138!

Hi, my darlings! Happy Sunday! It's time for more Adventures in Online Dating!

Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you! :-D

In last week's excerpt, Syd took off in search of Joe, the escape artist, and found a parking ticket tacked to the windshield of her car instead. We'll continue from there....

“No, no, no, no!” she cried as she dashed toward her car, barely paying any heed to the oncoming traffic.
The officer looked up in alarm, taking a large step back from the vehicle and the crazy lady approaching it.
“Please, officer. Don’t give me a ticket, not today,” she panted, pressing a hand to her chest.
“When’s a better time for you?” he asked with a smirk.
Great, a comedian. “How about never?” She lunged for the ticket from the safety of the sidewalk and her knees almost buckled at the amount owing. “Thirty-five dollars?!”
He held his hands up in defense.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

Any of you ever gotten a parking ticket before? Thirty-five bucks is actually cheap compared to some of the fines I've had to pay. lol. I even got one at the end of a date I'd been on too. The date was pretty good, but certainly not fifty-dollars-worth-good. So much for that "free drink." :D Wishing all of you a very happy, healthy, parking-ticket-free week ahead!

Weekend Writing Warriors #137!

Hi, folks! Happy Sunday! As promised, I'm sending Syd on a new adventure today. But first, let's rewind back several weeks. Remember when she was on a date with Joe, the professional gamer who lived with his parents? And he took off on her, claiming to be adding money to his parking meter, but then he never came back? She was about to chase after him when Mystery Man (a.k.a Garrett) advised her against it. Well, in today's excerpt, she won't be heeding MM's warning.

Here's the blurb from Adventures in Online Dating:  After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you! :-D

And here's the first excerpt from a new adventure:

“I will not get dumped, not at my favorite coffee shop. I’ll never be able to drink here again if I do.”
“Suit yourself,” Mystery Man said with a chuckle. “Good luck.”
Pushing her shoulders back, she marched forward and out the door at a dangerous clip in heels, but she was a woman on a mission. The late afternoon sun’s warm rays invigorated her, while at the same time partially blinding her to her immediate surroundings. When her eyes adjusted to the brightness, they latched onto a parking enforcement officer across the street who was currently writing some poor schmuck a ticket.
Her gaze swept up and down the sidewalk, failing to spot Joe, the escape artist, but then it dawned on her that she too had parked across the street. With trepidation, she glanced back at the officer and took a closer inspection of the car: a Venetian-red Sonata with a piano key-covered steering wheel and a shiny new parking ticket tacked to its windshield.
             She was the poor schmuck.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

So things are still going swimmingly in my own personal romantic adventures. We're at five dates and counting! With the same guy! I know, right? This is big. HUGE, even! I'll keep y'all posted as things continue to progress. Suffice it to say, I am one happy, happy girl. :) Wishing you all a wonderfully romantic week ahead!

Weekend Writing Warriors #136!

Hello, dear readers and warriors! Welcome back! Before I say anything more, I must wish my mother a happy birthday today. She's off on a cruise with my dad, having the adventure of a lifetime, but I can blow kisses and send wishes from afar. Speaking of adventures, let's see how Syd and Garrett are doing....

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off (P.S. This is the last you'll see of Garrett. We'll start a new adventure next week!):

“This is crazy,” she whispered. “I don’t just molest guys in alleys like this.”
“No?” he asked with a chuckle. “I can honestly say I’ve never been molested in an alley before today, but I quite enjoyed it.”
            “Really?”
“I mean, I would gladly stay here and let you take advantage of me all night—”
She practically launched herself at him, but he held her at bay—not an easy task when she put all of her weight behind the attempted assault.
“Or, we can go and have some dinner, and get to know each other better over food and wine, and once I get you to your house safely, we can be as proper or improper as you’d like.”
She beamed at him, delighted by his morals, his sense of humor, and the devilishness in his eyes when he’d said the word ‘improper’. “Garrett, I believe this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.”

So, as promised, I'll share a bit about my own dating adventure last Sunday. We met up at a public basketball court and shot some hoops while we fired questions back and forth. It didn't get nearly as competitive as I expected, mainly because we were much too distracted by each other. In fact, while we were busy gazing into each other's eyes, two teenagers stole our court and we were forced to take up residence on the corner of a nearby soccer field, where we sat and talked and made googly eyes at each other for THREE hours. There has been a date since. There will be more dates. Hopefully many, many more. This girl is one smitten kitten. Stay tuned for more adventures next week! Have a wonderful day! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #135!

Hi! Happy Labour Day weekend! Yes, we spell it with an extra U here in Canuckland. We're adventurous like that. Speaking of...let's see what's happening in today's Adventures in Online Dating!

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

“You’re really good at this whole dating thing, so I wouldn’t be surprised...not that it’s a bad thing. I’m just not really interested in being one of many, you know?”
Before she could take another breath, her back hit the wall and his tongue was in her mouth. And his hands—his wonderful, glorious, gifted hands—were all over her. Running up and down her sides, brushing against her breasts, and then cupping them, teasing her nipples into points. She shivered. Her knees buckled. She hadn’t even realized he’d stopped kissing her because her body was still tingling from every exquisite sensation.
When her eyelids fluttered open, she nearly orgasmed on the spot at the sight of his cocky grin. “Syd,” he said, running his fingers down her cheek, “in case I didn’t make myself clear there, I’m a one woman man.”

Whew! How's that for a Sunday pick-me-up? ;) Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

Well, my friends, I'm going on a hot date today. Literally. I'll be shooting some hoops with a new fella. A little one-on-one in the sun, gettin' our sweat on, being our uber-competitive selves. He asked me to bring my A-game, so I'm planning on it. Either one or both of us will be going home in a stretcher. Stay tuned! :D In the meantime, hope the rest of you enjoy your long weekend and stay cool! B-)

Weekend Writing Warriors #134!

Hiya! Happy Sunday, my friends and fellow warriors! I'm feeling adventurous. How about you? Let's see what's happening with Syd and Garrett in Adventures in Online Dating!

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

With a quick glance in either direction, she yanked him by the arm and pushed him into the alley between two shops. The wide-eyed, gorgeous man didn't know what hit him until his back hit the brick wall. She wasn't this kind of girl; she wasn't. Her lips latched on to his and she kissed him until he finally responded--every part of him. Then they were both kissing and holy hell, she was moaning so loud.
When breathing became essential, she pulled away all glossy-eyed and panting. “You’re single too, right?”
            “Hmm?”
“I mean, you obviously know I am, because of the online dating thing, but what about you? You don’t have a bunch of other women on the side, do you?”

Well, today I'm off to my final family reunion of the summer. Our immediate family is in charge of 'hosting' the reunion this year, which means we organize and run all the games and events, and give out all the fabulous prizes after we eat the delicious grub. It's so weird, but I always look the most forward to the big bucket of KFC that's always at the centre of the table. It's the one time a year I eat the stuff, and even cold it tastes like a dream. Okay, it tastes kinda meh, but it's tradition! lol. Wishing all of you a wonderful day and week ahead! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #133!

Hello there, everyone! My, you're looking fresh and appealing. Shall we dive into another Adventure in Online Dating? Okay, let's do it!

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

In an alternate universe, one where incredible men like Garrett didn’t exist, she’d ask this guy for his name and maybe even his work schedule so she could coincidentally show up during his next shift, but she wasn’t one to tempt fate...or Aphrodite. “You too,” she said.
She turned back in time to see Garrett slide his phone into his pocket again and shoot her a thumbs up. He closed the distance that separated them in three easy strides. “Ready to go?” he asked, holding out his arm.
In response, she linked her arm with his and fell into step with him. They could walk to The Empire, as it was only a couple blocks down the street. Garrett tucked her nice and close beside him when they hit the sidewalk, like he was already showing the world that she was his, and she kinda loved it. Their hips rubbed together with every forward movement. He kept smiling down at her, turning her insides into knots--naughty-thought knots--and one naughty thought ruled them all.

Naughty-thought knots. *giggles* Ahem, sorry. I just wanted to let all of you know, in case I haven't made it clear yet, that this story I've been sharing every week is something I submitted about a year ago, and my publisher, SilkWords, ended up asking for a steamed up version featuring Charlie the clown and Mystery Man. It's called Online Mating, and it's available now to read if you clicky this linky! The fourth and final installment has been written, just waiting for edits and then the story will be complete! Adventures in Online Dating will most likely never be officially published, but then again, who knows? I love how much you're all enjoying it, and I hope you continue to tune in each week. :) Now that I've yapped your ears off, have a fabulous day!

Weekend Writing Warriors #132!

Howdy, y'all! I'm in Little Rock, Arkansas, and that's how people talk here. Or something. Anywho, more on that later. For now, how about some more Adventures in Online Dating!

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:
He stood and she marveled at how perfectly unrumpled he was. Her eyes were on his lower half as he retrieved the cell phone from his pocket. He took several steps away to make the call without disturbing her or other patrons.
            “Guess things worked out, huh?”
She jumped at the sound of another man’s voice and spun on her chair, only to come face to abdomen with the super-cute barista from earlier. The one who’d told her she looked great before her date with Jackass Joe. “Better than I expected.”
His cobalt-blue eyes shone as he smiled. “I’m so glad. Have a nice night.”

So I've spent the last four days in the fabulous state of Arkansas, hangin' with my bestie, Miss Maggie Wells, having the most delightfully wonderful vacation. Here are some highlights: Peanut butter pie at Three Sam's BBQ, cardboard sledding at the Clinton Presidential Library, Willy D's dueling pianos, frozen spoonfuls of Nutella and Jif salted caramel spread, shakes, Trainwreck at the theatre, Wii gaming, movies at the Wells' estate, Big Bopper sundaes, etc, etc, etc. I can't tell you how much fun I've had! It's been such a blast, but, sadly, I must leave today and return to my arctic tundra country. Thanks to Mags and her hubby and the state of Arkansas for being so freakin' awesome! Hope to come back again someday soon! As for the rest of you, may your week ahead be as spectacular as my weekend! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #131!

Hey, hi, hello! Happy Sunday! Ready for more Adventures in Online Dating? Well, I've got a special delivery just for you!

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

“And the last one--the million dollar question?”
“Maybe you could help me solve that mystery over dinner. I love The Empire, by the way.”
Garrett’s answering grin nearly stole her breath. “You hungry now, Sydney? I know the maĆ®tre d' at The Empire, and I could get us a table.”
“Starving.” She wet her lips with the tip of her tongue. The subtle gesture drew his eyes to her lips like a moth to a flame.
“Let me make a quick phone call then and we’ll head on over.”

So, I'm officially moved in to my new digs! You guys, the move was pure hell. I literally moved across the street, and you'd think it would have been a piece of cake, but, like, everything took soooo much longer than expected, and the process ended up taking two days instead of one, but it's done, thank the Lord and my incredible, patient parents.

Oh, and about the hot guy who I'd hoped would help me with the heavy lifting? Let me just say that, since moving into my new place (which I love!!!), I have met an extraordinary number of cute guys. In fact, it's possible that I made out with a magician last night. Not quite a clown, but close, right? :D Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!
