Weekend Writing Warriors #34!

Greetings, friends! Happy Sunday! Once again, I'm sharing another excerpt from Crossing the Line, continuing from where we left off last week.

Here's the blurb:
Madison Kelly is an erotic romance author from Canada on her way to her first ever writing conference. Across the border. A trunk full of dirty books and dildos proves enough to amp up her nerves and make her lips flap faster than the maple leaf flag.
But she's not going anywhere until George Petropoulos gives the go-ahead.
The Greek god of a border guard has something other than national security in mind when he detains this particular citizen. He can’t help but be charmed by the juxtaposition between her stammering blushes and the racy books she writes.
A hot and heavy interrogation brings out her inner sex goddess, one that she’s been hiding in the pages of her books, and leaves them both wanting more. But will they be brave enough to cross the line again?

And here's the excerpt:

“Umm. Is this a trick question?”
He slid closer to her and his mouth curved into a smile. “So, your books look…good.”
She almost preened until she remembered who he was and where she was. “Good how?”
The hand burning a hole in her jeans climbed higher, right along with her heart rate. “You know, if you ever need a cover model…I could probably help you out with that.”

I just received word that Crossing the Line will be releasing in March of 2015. Soooo hold on to that enthusiasm! lol. Hope I'm still participating in the WWW then and I can share the exciting news with you. But for now, I'll just continue prematurely building your excitement. :D I really appreciate all the support every week. It means the world to me. Wishing you all a fantastic day!

Weekend Writing Warriors #33!

Heya! Happy Sunday, all! I'm skipping ahead just a teeny little bit in my story, Crossing the Line, but the action essentially picks up where we left off.

Here's the blurb:
Madison Kelly is an erotic romance author from Canada on her way to her first ever writing conference. Across the border. A trunk full of dirty books and dildos proves enough to amp up her nerves and make her lips flap faster than the maple leaf flag.

A hot and heavy interrogation brings out her inner sex goddess, one that she’s been hiding in the pages of her books, and leaves them both wanting more. But will they be brave enough to cross the line again?

And here's the excerpt:

His feet swung back and forth. Strangely, the action helped to calm her swelling nerves. “How long will you be out of the country?”
If she’d been writing their story, right around this point George would pin his smoldering gaze on her and she’d answer in a breathy voice, ‘Why, you gonna miss me, hot stuff?’ And then he’d smile and tell her it was time for a strip search. And she’d sigh and blush and pretend it was such a chore for him to pat her down in places that so needed to be patted down.
Fantasy George had her pinned to the table before real-life George put a stop to it in the most effective way possible: he pressed a warm palm to her bouncing knee.
“What are you thinking about?” he whispered.

Today happens to be my incredible grandmother's 90th birthday. I wish you could all know this woman. She is the kindest, most generous soul in the world. Everyone who's ever met her loves her. She makes me laugh, she's always there for me, she supports me in all my wacky schemes, she believes in me, and, best of all, she has a dirty mind that I'm grateful was passed down to me, along with her sweet tooth. :D Happy birthday, Granny! Love you like crazy! I'm off to celebrate with family and friends. Wishing you all a fabulous day too! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors #32!

Hiya, folks! Happy Sunday! I'm sharing another excerpt from Crossing the Line today, but we're skipping ahead a bit. Georgey-boy has taken our dear girl into the big grey building for further interrogation. *eyebrow raise, eyebrow raise*

Here's the blurb:

And here's the excerpt:

“Have a seat,” he told her after closing the door behind them.
The room was quaint. Tan walls, a small rectangular table in the center with four chairs surrounding it…a couch. That was a bit of a head scratcher. She automatically went for a chair and sank into it. Fidgeting with her hands, she waited for him to sit across from her, but he didn’t. He sat on the table in front of her, his legs dangling over the edge on either side of her, locking her in without actually touching her.
About a thousand dirty scenarios filtered into her brain. She’d been writing erotica for too long.

Well, today is Sunday, September 15th. It's also the day after our annual Corn and Wiener Roast. I'm writing this before the shindig commences, but I already know it's gonna rock my toe socks. I'll actually be wearing toe socks for the occasion, and my new 'Elmo Style' t-shirt I scored for three bucks at Walmart! There will be a kick-ass fire that I will be dancing around. Possibly while wearing a headdress. There will be marshmallow roasting, barbecued everything, and corn coming out of our ears (see what I did there?) And, best of all, both sides of the family will be here for the festivities. Oh, and better still, there will be a ridiculous amount of leftovers! :D Okie dokes. That's enough out of me. Wishing you all a spectacular day!

Weekend Writing Warriors #31!

Good Sunday morning, friends! I'm sharing another excerpt from Crossing the Line today, continuing from where we left off.

And here's the excerpt:

“Props,” she blurted. “The sex toys are props for my signing table, and the books are, uh, mine. I wrote them. I write…dirty books.”
“Like those ones they’re always babbling about on those talk shows?”
She shrugged noncommittally. “Something like that.”
He nodded. He even had the good grace to blush a little too.

September is an eventful month in my family. Mom's celebrating her 61st birthday on Friday the 13th (eep, and cool!), Grandma's turning 90!!! on the 22nd (and we're having a huge bash for her), and my one and only brother will be the ripe old age of 33 on the 30th. So, essentially, I'll go broke buying all the presents I have to buy this month, which is great because then I can put off buying Christmas presents until mid December without feeling guilty. :D Anywho, that's all from me. Hope this month is full of fabulousness for all of you!

Weekend Writing Warriors #30!

Goooood Sunday morning, my friends! Today I'll be driving one of my best friends and fellow author, +Margaret Ethridge, to the airport. She came to Canada to visit me and another friend of ours for a few days, and even though I'm typing this before she arrives, I already know we're gonna have the time of our lives. Rhyme! I also know how hard it'll be to say goodbye. I'm sure it'll be hard for her to leave the land of maple syrup, butter tarts, and Clodhoppers too, but she'll be back. Her supply will run out eventually. ;)

Now, to keep you folks entertained while I'm away, I'm sharing another excerpt from Crossing the Line!

Here's the blurb:

Madison Kelly is an erotic romance author from Canada on her way to her first ever writing conference. Across the border. A trunk full of dirty books and dildos proves enough to amp up her nerves and make her lips flap faster than the maple leaf flag.

And here's an excerpt:

Clearly the guy had super x-ray vision. Shit, shit, shitty, shit. How in the hell was she going to explain the trunk full of sex toys and boxes of erotic romance books? “Uh, okay.” She pressed the trunk release button and cringed as he walked to the rear of her vehicle.
He lifted the latch and her stomach lurched. She bashed her head against the steering wheel to the sound of him sifting through the unfit-for-children contents of her trunk.
He returned to her open window and lowered his voice to a dangerous level. “You wanna change your answer, Miss Kelly?”

Thanks, as always, for stopping by! Be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors and have a fabulous day! :)
