Weekend Writing Warriors #55!

Hiiiiii! How's it going? So happy to have you here! I've got pretzels and popcorn and vegetables and dip. I don't even care if you double dip, just don't put your whole mouth in the bowl. Oh, right. You probably want to read something. Here's another taste of Crossing the Line!

Blurby blurb: Madison Kelly is an erotic romance author from Canada on her way to her first ever writing conference. Across the border. A trunk full of dirty books and dildos proves enough to amp up her nerves and make her lips flap faster than the maple leaf flag.
But she's not going anywhere until George Petropoulos gives the go-ahead.
The Greek god of a border guard has something other than national security in mind when he detains this particular citizen. He can’t help but be charmed by the juxtaposition between her stammering blushes and the racy books she writes.
A hot and heavy interrogation brings out her inner sex goddess, one that she’s been hiding in the pages of her books, and leaves them both wanting more. But will they be brave enough to cross the line again?

And here's an excerpt:

She watched in a dreamy daze as he returned the travel documents to the people ahead and gave them freedom to roam the country. The green light flashing overhead lulled her into a trance, but the impatient blare of a horn broke the spell.
“Shit,” she hissed. Plucking a container of Tic Tacs from her purse, she popped three into her mouth and chewed like a mad woman as she put her car into gear and drove forward.
She was still crunching on the last bits of candy when she pulled into the stall and parked. Heart pounding, she reached for her documents and thrust them out the window before he said a word.
“Just your passport will do for now, ma’am,” he stated, chuckling softly.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

So I have to take a moment and give a huge shoutout to my Canucks out there who kicked some serious ass at the Olympic games! I couldn't be more proud of my little country that could. It's been an incredible ride, and I'm already looking forward to the next one! I'm writing this before our men take to the ice for the gold medal hockey match against Sweden, but I have faith we'll bring home the big W. Go, Canada, go! Hope you all have a wonderful week! :)

    1. The Tic Tacs are to ensure she has minty-fresh breath in case Mr. Border Guard gets up close and personal. ;) Thanks, Gemma!

My treat for you is a headline found in my local paper today that made me choke on my tea: "Ecstasy found in man's underwear." You're welcome.
And since the U.S. is out of it, Go Canada!

  6. So funny, of course the tic tacs and the nervous handling of the documents will give this guy the idea he needs to take a closer look at her...a much closer look ; )

  7. Whoa, she's definitely smooth!

I bet they deal with nervous people all the time, though not necessarily the kind of nervous Madison is...
