Weekend Writing Warriors #60!

Greetings, fellow writers and friends! Thanks for coming back for another hit! I've got you hooked now, haven't I? *maniacal laugh*

Here's the blurb for Crossing the Line: Madison Kelly is an erotic romance author from Canada on her way to her first ever writing conference. Across the border. A trunk full of dirty books and dildos proves enough to amp up her nerves and make her lips flap faster than the maple leaf flag.
But she's not going anywhere until George Petropoulos gives the go-ahead.
The Greek god of a border guard has something other than national security in mind when he detains this particular citizen. He can’t help but be charmed by the juxtaposition between her stammering blushes and the racy books she writes.
A hot and heavy interrogation brings out her inner sex goddess, one that she’s been hiding in the pages of her books, and leaves them both wanting more. But will they be brave enough to cross the line again?

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

He straightened and crossed his arms over his chest. “Are you bringing anything into the country with you?”

She’d rehearsed her answer to this particular question at least a dozen times, but without the gorgeous man staring down at her, daring her to give him a reason to detain her. Then again, honesty wasn’t always the best way to go, especially in her case. She looked him square in the eyes and said, “Just my suitcase…and stuff.”

“Pop the trunk.”

Shit, shit, shitty, shit.

Ruh-roh. :D Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

My friends, today I will be partaking in an epic battle. I'm playing not one, but two fiercely competitive games of dodgeball wherein I will dodge balls like they've never been dodged before. Our first match is against the Dodgefathers. The name is meant to intimidate as well as amuse. I think the perfect name for a dodgeball team would be The Artful Dodgers. Now I'm getting ideas for stories again. Off I go. Wishing you all a fabulously exciting week! :)

  1. Just gonna point out that "Pop the trunk" could have a completely different connotation, if you wanted it to. Good luck against the Dodgefathers. Watch out for their cannolis. And yes, the Artful Dodgers would be a perfect name! Have fun this week!

  6. Ha!! OMG, she sounds like me w/ her internal dialogue. I'd be saying the exact same thing...she reminds me so much of me. I can write the stuff...but in real life? Totally red-faced embarrassed. :D

  11. That swearing streak made me smile. It's not the most imaginative thing ever thought, but it's still funny.

That's what she gets for her shifty '...and stuff,' though. Very suspicious.
