Weekend Writing Warriors #63!

Happy Easter, my peeps! Hope you're eating chocolate and candy and other assorted goodies in your corner of the world. I'm about to hightail it to a family get-together, so I'll keep this short and sweet.

Here's the blurb for Crossing the Line: Madison Kelly is an erotic romance author from Canada on her way to her first ever writing conference. Across the border. A trunk full of dirty books and dildos proves enough to amp up her nerves and make her lips flap faster than the maple leaf flag.
But she's not going anywhere until George Petropoulos gives the go-ahead.
The Greek god of a border guard has something other than national security in mind when he detains this particular citizen. He can’t help but be charmed by the juxtaposition between her stammering blushes and the racy books she writes.
A hot and heavy interrogation brings out her inner sex goddess, one that she’s been hiding in the pages of her books, and leaves them both wanting more. But will they be brave enough to cross the line again?

And here's an excerpt, skipping ahead a little. Now that Georgey-boy is all suspicious, he's bringing her inside for further questioning.

She snatched her keys and her purse and dragged herself out of the vehicle, half expecting him to cuff her. Hell, she had a set of fuzzy pink cuffs in the trunk he could borrow for the job.
“I’ll take those,” he said, easing the keys from her grip. Their fingers brushed and her breath hitched. Cupping her elbow in his hot palm, he escorted her to the big grey prison-like building.
“This is, like, a normal, everyday occurrence, right? Like, you take people in here all the time, don’t you? I mean, like at the airport security, when they randomly choose someone and search their bags...that’s what this is, right?

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

I probably won't get a chance to make the rounds today, but I'll catch up this week! Hope you all have a fantastic day! :)

  1. Love how well her nervousness is displayed - so very well done! Great 8.

  2. Good gracious, I hope this isn't a normal everyday occurrence for George. I'd hate to have to label him. ;) Excellent, as always, my dear!

  3. I like a gal who's prepared for all contingencies, including having a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs available. I have a feeling George is going to find out he's met his match.

Happy Easter, Chickie! Enjoy your family time! (Mime time?)

  4. cool, love the build-up tension and the conflicting emotions here

  5. Delicious. That's all I can say about your breezy sexy fun filled style of writing. Thanks for the Easter chuckle.

  6. I love her stammering and the way she tries to make sense of what he is doing. When is Crossing the Line out?
    Enjoy the chocolate.

  7. I love her questions, hope his answers are reassuring! Love this story, so much fun, can't wait for more. Great snippet!

  8. Sure, you just keep thinking it's normal : ) Just wait till he pulls out the pink cuffs he grabbed whilst looting the trunk : ) Funny stuff Evelyn!

  9. LOL. I think she's grasping at straws here. This isn't normal, but it's oh, so much fun. Can't wait to see where he's taking her. ~giggle~

  10. I wonder what he is going to say to that. I mean it's not like she had a dead body in her trunk either.. or an alive one...
