Here's the blurb for Adventures in Online Dating: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you!

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:
“Here we are!” Charlie said as he
plopped into his chair again, armed with their drinks.
“Gah!”
The enthusiasm over everything--another creepy clown characteristic. She dove for the monster-sized coffee cup
and downed a quarter of it in one gulp.
“Wow,”
he said, "you really like your coffee.”
“Uh-huh, coffee good.”
He
laughed again--not so much a maniacal laugh, but certainly a boisterous one. “So
I read in your profile that you play the piano in an orchestra, and you offer lessons too. I can play the guitar, but it’s
just something I picked up for my act because the kids love that stuff....”

So today is a special someone's birthday. I think you all know her by Maggie Wells. So this is just an extra little birthday wish from me to you, Ms. Wells. Hope your day is as fabulous as you are! xoxo <3 Wishing the rest of you a fantastic week ahead! :)
The date from hell is not improving. Fun as always.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it shall next week, Charmaine! Stay tuned! :)
DeleteSee? They're both musical! This could work out yet...No?
ReplyDeleteLots of birthday wishes to Ms. Maggie!
Well, sure! I always had faith in the clown. ;) Thanks, A-M! xo
DeleteHe needs to stop clowning around. Sorry I couldn't resist. Funny as always.
ReplyDeleteOh, Laurie. You're so punny! ;) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteCreepy- not a good adjective to describe a date. Maybe he'll ask her to join his act?
ReplyDeleteOoh, now there's an idea! :D Thanks, Alexis!
DeleteLOL...man this date is just not getting any better. She's freaked out by his clown outfit and he's apparently comfortable enough in who he is and what he does that he's not too worried about that 'good first impression' thing. Or maybe he's hoping humor will win her over.
ReplyDeleteHe'll win her over eventually, maybe. You'll have to wait and see. ;) Thanks, Meka!
DeleteI feel so bad for both of them at this point. Why does she keep it up? There's no winning here
ReplyDeleteOr is there? Stay tuned, Shannyn! Things are about to get a little more interesting!! :)
DeleteSo he sounds like he is a nice guy...and yet still annoying LOL
ReplyDeletelol, hopefully he'll change your opinion by next week. ;) Thanks, Nicolette!
DeleteWell Charlie certainly is trying to be nice, in his clownish way...I just did a piece for USA Today/HEA on interactive romance fiction this week, fun stuff. I love the way you're writing this one, great snippet!
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds awesome, Veronica! I'll have to check it out. Many thanks for your positive comments! :)
Deletelol! "Coffee good" is pretty much how I wake up every morning.
ReplyDeleteHee! Sounds like the perfect way to wake up. ;) Thanks, Eleri!
DeleteSounds like the clown has a chance... :)
ReplyDeleteCharlie's a good guy, you'll see! ;) Thanks, Catherine!
DeleteEnthusiasm can be good...very good, especially when all jacked up on coffee : )
ReplyDeleteSo true, Millie! I have a tendency to ramble at 5000 miles an hour while jacked up on caffeine. :D
DeleteWell, at least the laugh isn't maniacal. And he's also a musician! Maybe they can bond after all. You never know what you might find under that clown costume. ;-)
ReplyDeleteA tromboner? lol, I kill me. :D Thanks, Christina!
DeleteSometimes enthusiasm can be a little disturbing, especially if you're a more low key kind of person. You find yourself the target of all these smiles and laughs, and wonder if someone's had a Stepford Wife kind of transformation...
ReplyDeleteHa! Good point, Caitlin. Thanks for your always-thoughtful comments! :)
DeleteHmm, the clown sounds like a long shot to me, but you never know! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHe may change your opinion yet! Stay tuned, and thanks for visiting! :)
