Weekend Writing Warriors #154!

Hello, all you lovely people! Happy Sunday! Here's more from Adventures in Online Dating!

Le blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you! :-D

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

She read his first text, her cheeks flaming at the blatant flirtation, and the second was just as suggestive. In the third, he flat out told her to drop any plans she might have and meet up with him ASAP. Her hormones were in overdrive. Charlie seemed like the type who took things slow, besides dive-bombing strangers with hugs. Collin knew what he wanted and wasn’t shy about saying so. Sometimes a woman found that damn appealing...which is why she was considering bolting.
If she left now, she could start fresh with Collin. Charlie wouldn’t need to know. Besides, the very idea that she could ever bring herself to love a clown was preposterous. If she stayed, she’d give the clown false hope.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

We are now entering the final week of school before exams and the end of the first semester at Adult High School. Sadly, when the semester officially ends, I'll be moving on to another school. As much as it saddens me to leave the school I've called home for over a year now, I'm excited to begin a new adventure someplace else. And every new school I get to teach in helps me to narrow down where I'll want to end up working when I've put in enough time for a highly coveted contract. :) In the meantime, I wish you all a fabulous week ahead!

  1. Uh-oh. Looks like she's about to ditch the nice guy for the bad boy, and that never ends well. Though it might be entertaining!

  2. Great tone - this is the first time I've read this story and immediately I was able to get a feel for the character, and how torn she was. Can't wait to stop by next Sunday and see who she chooses.

  3. Aww, poor clown. Well so long as she lets him down nicely. Another great snippet!

  4. Send in the clowns, there have to be clowns. As for me-get me out of Vertigo and right now. Best to you, dear friend.

  5. Nice guys always finish last--even the clowns.

You've got me teetering back and forth, Evelyn! lol

    Loving this story.

Best wishes with your new job--wherever you happen to land. :-)

  6. Someone's making excuses... but I think the clown might be interested in love, but Mr. Charming isn't!
