Weekend Writing Warriors #62!

Hiya, kids! Hope you're all doing well! The sun is shining, the temperature is in the positive digits, and I'm about to go outside to enjoy it while it lasts. For you, I leave another excerpt from Crossing the Line! :)

Blurby: Madison Kelly is an erotic romance author from Canada on her way to her first ever writing conference. Across the border. A trunk full of dirty books and dildos proves enough to amp up her nerves and make her lips flap faster than the maple leaf flag.
But she's not going anywhere until George Petropoulos gives the go-ahead.
The Greek god of a border guard has something other than national security in mind when he detains this particular citizen. He can’t help but be charmed by the juxtaposition between her stammering blushes and the racy books she writes.
A hot and heavy interrogation brings out her inner sex goddess, one that she’s been hiding in the pages of her books, and leaves them both wanting more. But will they be brave enough to cross the line again?

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

“The sex toys are props for my signing table, and the books are, uh, mine. I wrote them. I write…dirty books.”
“Like the ones they’re always babbling about on those talk shows?”
She shrugged. “Something like that.”
He nodded; he even had the good grace to blush a little too. “I see.” Tapping the window sill, he spun on his heel and stepped back inside his office.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

Last night I went to see the Nepean High School production of Les Misérables with a bunch of my co-workers. In a word, it was...SPECTACULAR! I was so far beyond impressed with the talent from our students and staff who poured countless hours of their blood, sweat, and tears into putting on a show that people will be talking about for years to come. I'd only ever seen the movie prior to this, but experiencing the musical live on a stage is something I'll treasure for the rest of my life. Have a fantastic week, everyone!! :) *goes back to listening to Les Mis soundtrack*

  2. The snippets have been so fun. With each one I feel more embarrassed for her. :)
History Sleuth - Murders of Polly Frisch.
If I double posted it's because my iPad is being goofy. :)

  4. Interesting how much of a problem she's having, discussing all this with the border guard. He really has an effect on her LOL. Another terrific snippet!

  5. That's it?! No suggestive comment, no wink? Interesting. Now I want to know what happens next. Evelyn, you tease!;)

  6. What kind of excuse can he come up with to detain her further, now that she's actually told him the truth?

  7. I think he was caught off guard. Wonder if he'll let her through. I always experience difficulty when I cross the border. Engaging snippet!

  8. Hey, nothing wrong with exercising a little imagination! And Romance Conferences have to bring in a good bit of tourism cash--so everybody's happy.

  9. I love the way she just goes ahead and finally admits that she writes...dirty books. And that he blushes a little bit! They are a very intriguing couple.

I've been in musical mood lately, too. I listened to the Pippin soundtrack yesterday. "Gotta find my corner...of...the...sky!!!!!"

  10. I'm wondering what he'll come back with or what he'll say to her - he can't just let her go across the border!
