Weekend Writing Warriors #71!

Hi, gang! Happy Sunday to you, and Happy Father's Day to all those fine men out there! I'm home celebrating with the guy who's been wrapped around my finger since 1983. And I'm pretty nuts about him too. :)

Speaking of nuts, I've decided to use the WWW as a way to motivate myself to finally finish my nutty story. You may remember it. It's called Nutcases.

Here's a blurb-ish thingy about it:  It's the year 2033. Since so many people have developed allergies to peanuts in this century, the government has banned peanuts and all peanut-related products, including (*gasp*) peanut butter. Side note: I think that was the most anyone has ever used the word 'peanut' in a sentence. Well, as you can imagine, Morgan, my heroine, refuses to live in a world without PB. So, with the help of my hero, Clark, they build their own peanut-butter-making machine in the secret basement of her home and begin the business of bootlegging. Also, they share a few pb kisses, etc, etc. :-D

And here's an excerpt!

Morgan peeked over the edge of the top bunk. "Clark," she whispered, "are you awake?”

“Hmm-mm,” he mumbled sleepily.

She smiled and wiggled closer to the edge, trying to see his face through the shadows. “I just realized I forgot to show you my Nut House. We got a little sidetracked because someone couldn’t keep his hands to himself.”

“Isn’t this whole place a Nut House?”

Reaching behind her, she snagged her Cabbage Patch doll and threw it at what she assumed was his head.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

So I won't say much here, except that if being a grown woman and loving bunk beds is wrong, I don't wanna be right! Have a wonderful day and week ahead! :)

  2. I think that was a reasonable assumption on poor Clark's part. I'm not sure he deserved to be patched. ;) Love this nutty story. I'm excited for you to get back to work on it!

  7. Even if I didn't already love every single thing about this story, the mention of a Cabbage Patch doll would have made me read it. Looking forward to more!
