Weekend Writing Warriors #117!

Helloooooooo! Happy Sunday! I'm feelin' good and I'm lovin' the sunshine! Is it possible to get high off Vitamin D? 'Cause I think I might be! :P I'm gonna turn things over to Syd and Joe for more from Adventures in Online Dating!

Here's the blurb: After too many failed relationships, too many shots of tequila, and too many not-so-gentle nudges from her best friend, Sydney Montrose joins an online dating site in hopes of finding THE ONE. During her adventures, she crosses paths with a professional gamer who lives with his parents, a sweet and sarcastic parking enforcement officer, a flirty barista, a mystery man, a touchy-feely former felon, and a clown. Which one will she choose? Well, that's all entirely up to you! :-D

And here's an excerpt, continuing from where we left off:

Who cares if he thought she was hot? He was just a punk-ass teenager stuck in a Jean-Claude-Van-Damme-I’m-fine man’s body...and good Christ, she couldn’t help but stare when he flexed once more.
            “You workout?”
Heat flooded her cheeks at being caught gawking at his muscles. “Well, not so much in a gym, although, I’ll admit I have this fantasy where I walk into a gym, and this gorgeous, muscle-bound man offers to be my personal trainer, and we fall madly in love....” she trailed off with a self-deprecating chuckle.
“That’s just proof that RL isn’t always as good as fantasy,” he said as he slid from the booth and stood. “I’m not sure I put enough money in the meter outside. Be back in two secs.”
He was out the door before she could ask him what the hell RL stood for.

Ya think Joe'll be back? Stay tuned next week to find out! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

I tell you, this warm weather has been such a treat. I'm on my way to a meeting/workshop with the Ottawa Romance Writers of America today, but I hope to catch some more rays at some point today. Let's all hope the week ahead is full of plenty more sunshine, good times, and great news! See you all next week! :)

    1. So true. Dating is such a horror sometimes, isn't it? Thanks, Joanne! :)

  2. Oh no! Did she blow it by copping to not being a gym bunny in RL? ahaha. If he doesn't return, it's not great loss, except for the Jean Claude van Damme body. That would be a shame. :-)

  4. Minor nit: In this day and age would she really not know what RL stood for? Aside from that, I'm making bets with myself if he's ever coming back?! Love this story and the whole idea of choosing the outcomes.

    1. Well, I didn't know what it meant, so maybe not? lol. But you're probably right, Veronica. I'm opting to keep it in, though, because I need it for the next bit of the story. ;) Thanks, as always, for your awesome comments!

  6. I don't know, RL could be for...righty-lefty...or radical lemons...or rabbit love...but in any case, I don't think this guy's the right one for Syd! Let's hope RL has someone better in store for her!
I so agree about the weather, though. I'm soaking up all the sunshine I can before the rain comes back tomorrow.

  7. Now's her chance! Run! Anyone that hung up on video games instead of Real Life (and I think the comments make the argument for people not knowing the acronym) is not a keeper.

  8. She's not having much luck is she?

  9. Guessing Real Life? Maybe I'm just getting old. Certainly not a gym junkie. Good Luck to her.
